To all those people who say they love living in the Northern Virginia area because you get to experience all four seasons, I say, "wanna come to my house and help rake leaves"????? OMG, they are out of control. It seems like we've been raking non-stop for the last two weeks and we've just finally made a serious dent. I didn't think they were ever going to end and we actually quit counting at 100 bags full. And, I'm sad to say that there are still some left on the trees. We have them piled up along our fenceline and behind the screen porch not to mention the 20+ bags out in front of the house along the curb waiting for this Wednesday's pick up.
But for Christian and his buddy J.R. who lives across the street, they were a blast to play in! A few more years though and Christian won't think they're nearly as much fun when he becomes part of the clean up crew!
All I've got to say now is "think snow". I'll take a few hours of shoveling over days and days of raking any time.

WHOA! You were not kiddin' when you talked about all of those leaves!
My mom would've loved them for her garden. But, it is 3000 miles away..
If she wants to rent a U-haul and drive back home with them after her visit next week I'm sure there will be plenty left!
Oh what fun for Christian!! I know he had a blast in the leaves. My sister and I loved it when it was time for everyone to get together to rake leaves at my grandma's house. She had tons too. We would make lines of leaves and make rooms out of them for a house. We had so much fun playing in them. And of course, jumping in piles.
I guess it isn't as much fun for the adults. Thank goodness Dominic took care of the leaves in our yard. My excuse was that it was too cold for the kids outside. :-)
I can't believe how many bags full of leaves you have! You and Shane both must have gotten a good workout. I'm sure as the leaves were changing colors you admired the leaves but knew what was to come soon.
Man that's a lot of leaves....ugh! David takes care of that for us - thank goodness - although I'm sure it's a great workout. I bet Christian had a blast - I can still remember doing that when I was little. Hopefully if you aren't done raking yet, you will be soon.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Holy poo! Those are some serious bags of leaves!!! We have not even started on back yard, I feel defeated when I look at it. I may have to pay someone....interested?
